I found this beautiful salwar kameez which I originally thought was a Sari at the thrift store a few months back for only 6 bucks. I almost forgot about it, until Vayda snatched it out the closet and asked to put it on her last week. The sun was shining and her curls were popping so I said “Hey lets make this into a photo shoot!”

After I picked it up from Goodwill I did a little research and learned that the shalwar are loose pajama-like trousers. The legs are wide at the top, and narrow at the ankle. The kameez is a long shirt or tunic, often seen with a Western-style collar. The kameez may also might be worn with pajamas as well, either for fashion or comfort although I can’t imagine sleeping in this.
I’m so glad she reminded me about it because she is about 6 grapes away from not being able to fit it.
I just love the colors against her skin
I fell in love with this salwar kameez and I think she did too.
The one thing that’s the catch 22 about thrifting is that 9 times out of 10 they’ll only have 1 of something you fall in love with. They only had one of these in the store.
I loved taking pictures of her in this. I’m on the lookout for some Dashikis for her and the boys next
If you want to do a photoshoot in a Salwar Kameez I’ve added links to some really cute ones below.
She is adorable and yes her curls were definitely popping that day! #blmgirl
